Lists

I think we should start doing lists.

Here's one:
Please write below websites you check (or would like to check) on a frequent basis. I'm leaving out facebook because it's too much of a given (maybe this is just me).

Celeste
- theavclub.com and of course theonion.com
- slate.com
- mcsweeneys.net
- theapiary.com
- thesuperficial.com
- mindyephron.blogspot.com
- ucbtheatre.com/ny

My favorite blog is 3quarksdaily.com--amazing filter blog.

AV club is still great, even though--Amelie Gillette (huge crush) used to write longer, funnier pieces in the Hater. Now she just comments on pictures or youtube videos.

Slate--good, I go in waves with it though.

Austinist.

Craigslist (Austin)--mostly look at musical instruments being sold that I can't buy.

Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (plato.stanford.edu)--this has become something of a standard reference in the field. If I read it every day I'd be way smarter.

NYT--I'm just a slut for the NYT.

Pitchfork--just kidding. No, I do read it occasionally, but the AV club is way better.

Allmusic.com--Sometimes they have good features.

Arts&LettersDaily--OK "academic" filter blog.

does wikipedia count? or is that like facebook?
i do visit it daily with varying objectives (did roger miller form the alloy orchestra? is focused. how big can spiders/centipedes get and are there gross pictures/links to youtube? is more sprawling and sort of internet improv, like youtube itself)

pitchfork is good for compiling vids (dj khaled has an i'm so hood remix, and feist was on letterman etc.)

i like senses of cinema as a quasi scholarly film resource.
